I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience working with children, young adults, families and individuals. I hold a Master’s Degree in Community and Agency Counseling from Norfolk State University and an Education Specialist Degree in Counseling from Hampton University.
My areas of expertise are depression and anxiety disorders, relationship issues, adjustment disorders, military family issues and transitioning, parenting issues, trauma, substance abuse, ADHD, and self-esteem issues.
I have provided counseling in a number of different settings from inpatient setting at a top local children’s hospital as well as an adult stabilization inpatient unit. Although my specialization is working with children, I provide counseling services to various populations.
I have experience in the use of various techniques and modalities, however, I assess each client individually and use the best suited modality including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy as well as dialectical behavior therapy. Most recently, I am completing training hours in Trauma-Focused CBT.
